I have over 20 years of experience in the mental health field. As a licensed professional counselor, my skilled treatment modalities are Trauma Focused-Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Cognitive Behavior Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy. I provide quality person-centered care that allows clients to control their destiny, at their own pace and remove themselves from those mental traps. I call myself the Trap Therapist, not only because of my desire to assist them in unlocking their trapped thoughts, and those hidden emotions, but also to assist clients with unpacking any areas of life that hinder their potential.

Hello! I'm Dr. Tristin Galvez I am veteran with over 18 years of experience in the mental health field. I have always desired to understand feelings, behaviors and the human mind; always been driven toward solving the questions that start with "WHY". In navigating my courageous sessions with courageous individuals, witnessing the empowering feeling it brings to simply aid someone find a way forward, inspires me. I deem it a privilege to take the time with someone to answer how they can move forward from their situation and how they can deal with whatever hand life has dealt them. I enjoy my journey with; children, adolescents, and adults battling an array of challenges. 

I am a proud veteran who served in the United States Navy. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 15 years of experience in the Mental Health Field. I obtained my master’s degree from Norfolk State University and am currently a doctoral student, in dissertation. I have experience working with a range of populations to include children, adolescents, adults, and families. Throughout my career in this field I have also had the pleasure of working with developmentally delayed individuals. Compassion is one of the factors that keep me motivated to serve and I want to continue to help and bless others using my gifts, skills, and education.  

As a therapist, I specialize in a range of counseling techniques and use my skills to help you work through obstacles such as trauma, depression, anxiety, and life transitions. I believe in individualized approaches to every person and every problem. Needing help is not a negative thing. Having issues with mental health does not mean that you cannot have a meaningful and fulfilling life. Let’s normalize recognizing when we need help and seeking it out.
